About Samata College

Samata College, established in 1992, is a reputed institution committed to providing quality higher education and fostering academic excellence. Affiliated to Andhra University, approved by AICTE and accredited with B++ Grade by NAAC, the college has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative and industry-relevant education.

The institution offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs including B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, MBA and M.Sc (Computer Science). With experienced faculty, modern infrastructure and a student-centered learning environment, Samata College focuses on developing knowledge, skills and values that prepare students for successful careers and responsible citizenship.

Located in MVP Colony, Visakhapatnam, the college provides a vibrant academic environment supported by advanced laboratories, digital classrooms and a well-equipped library.

Dean & Correspondent

Samata Degree College was established under the guidance and inspiration of Late Sri Sunkari Alwar Das Garu, former Education Minister of Andhra Pradesh, a distinguished educationist who played a pivotal role in promoting educational opportunities for all sections of society. He founded and nurtured a network of 32 educational institutions in Visakhapatnam, catering to learners from the play school level to postgraduate and research programmes.

The READ Educational Institutions are presently led by Dr. Sunkari Ravindra, son of the Founder and the Chairman of READ. A visionary leader, Dr. Ravindra has successfully brought the various schools and higher educational institutions under a unified framework, enabling the adoption of updated curricula, innovative teaching methodologies, and best academic practices. His leadership has significantly contributed to providing quality education and enhancing placement opportunities for students across READ institutions.

Over the past three and a half decades, Samata Degree College has witnessed a remarkable journey of growth, marked by a steady increase in student strength and a continuous enhancement in the quality of education imparted.

Starting with just four students in 1992, the College has grown manifold over the years through the introduction of a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including Business Management, B.Com., BCA, Statistics, Nutrition and Food Science, Chemistry, Physics, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

The Department of Physical Education is a vibrant and active wing of the College, equipped with a spacious playground, well-maintained gymnasium, yoga facilities, and provisions for various indoor games. The department actively promotes sports and physical fitness, enabling students to excel in a wide range of sporting disciplines. Our students have earned numerous prizes, medals, and accolades at the District, State, University, National, and International levels, bringing laurels to the institution.

Many social responsibility activities are conducted every year by the NSS Units I & II to create social awareness among the students

Students from Iran, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Afghanistan and few other countries also opted to study under graduate courses in our college through Andhra University.

The college is now fully equipped with newly constructed buildings with state of art infrastructure with all amenities like Labs, Library, Digital class rooms, Seminar Halls etc.,

The Skill development centre established by the government helps the students to get trained in various courses to improve employability skills

The college's Training and Placement Cell plays a vital role in preparing students for employment and helping them secure suitable career opportunities. Periodic job melas are also conducted to enhance placement prospects and connect students with recruiters.

The college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B++ Grade. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) continuously promotes and sustains a culture of quality among students and staff, fostering academic excellence and institutional development.

The academic programme encompasses management meets, workshops, sports and cultural events, exhibitions, conferences, Faculty Development Programmes, guest lectures by distinguished academicians, and spiritual discourses. These activities play a vital role in the overall development of students by enhancing their physical and mental well-being, nurturing leadership and interpersonal skills, and instilling compassion, empathy, and a sense of responsibility towards society and fellow human beings.

The institution takes great pride in its alumni, who are excelling in their chosen professions and making meaningful contributions across various sectors worldwide.

The institution has a recognized Research Cell that provides academic support and guidance to research scholars pursuing doctoral studies, with mentorship from both internal guides and approved research guides affiliated with Andhra University.

Having been associated with the college for more than three and a half decades since its inception, I derive immense satisfaction from witnessing generations of students successfully graduate and excel in their respective fields
