ANTI-RAGGING SQUAD

The Anti-Ragging Squad of Samata Degree College is constituted to ensure a safe, disciplined and ragging-free environment for all students. The Squad maintains continuous vigilance and undertakes preventive measures to identify and address any activity that may constitute ragging within or outside the College premises.

Responsibilities

1. To counsel both junior and senior students and educate senior students about what constitutes ragging in accordance with the latest applicable UGC/AICTE guidelines and regulations.
2. To inform parents and their wards about anti-ragging rules, regulations and the consequences of indulging in ragging activities at the time of admission.
3. To constitute and maintain an Anti-Ragging Squad and keep continuous vigilance over student activities.
4. To observe students and their activities during and beyond college hours, including areas outside the College campus wherever necessary.
5. To maintain vigilance over senior students and their activities at bus stops, transportation points and other nearby locations frequented by students.
6. To identify potential sources and situations that may contribute to ragging and take appropriate preventive measures to control ragging-related issues.
7. To conduct surprise visits and inspections at various locations such as classrooms, canteen, parking areas, hostels, buses, bus stops and other student gathering points.
8. To organize seminars, awareness programmes, workshops and orientation sessions on the prevention of ragging and applicable regulations.
9. To take appropriate and strict action against students found violating anti-ragging rules, in accordance with applicable UGC/AICTE regulations and institutional rules.
10. The Anti-Ragging Squad shall meet periodically and whenever required to review the prevailing situation and plan appropriate preventive measures.
