The Women Grievance Redressal Cell (WGRC) is constituted to provide a safe, supportive and respectful environment for women students and members of the University/Institution. The Cell addresses grievances related to harassment, discrimination and other concerns affecting the dignity, safety and well-being of women.
Responsibilities
- To receive and deal with complaints and grievances relating to harassment, discrimination and other concerns of women students and members of the institution.
- To examine individual complaints and take appropriate action in accordance with the rules, regulations and policies of the University/Institution.
- To provide necessary guidance and assistance to students in matters relating to gender equality, prevention of harassment and personal safety.
- To create awareness among students and staff regarding the rights, dignity, safety and welfare of women.
- To formulate, review and recommend suitable guidelines and policies for the prevention and redressal of grievances from time to time.
- To provide an appropriate mechanism through which students and staff can submit their grievances in writing to the concerned committee.
- To examine complaints forwarded to the Cell along with the necessary information and supporting documents.
- To maintain confidentiality and handle grievances in a fair, impartial and sensitive manner.
- To ensure that grievances are addressed within the stipulated time frame, as applicable under the institutional rules and procedures.
- To organize awareness programmes, counselling sessions and other activities related to women's safety, dignity and empowerment.
- To monitor the implementation of institutional policies relating to the prevention of harassment and gender discrimination.
- The Cell shall meet periodically and whenever necessary to consider matters placed before it.

Awareness and Outreach
The Cell may conduct awareness programmes, seminars, workshops and counselling or sensitization activities to promote women's safety, dignity, equality and empowerment within the institution.
Grievance Redressal
Any student or staff member who wishes to submit a grievance may approach the Women Grievance Redressal Cell through the prescribed institutional procedure. Complaints shall be handled with due confidentiality, sensitivity and fairness.
