Samata Degree College regularly organizes workshops, seminars, and knowledge-enrichment programmes to provide students with practical exposure, industry insights, and contemporary knowledge beyond the classroom. These programmes focus on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, intellectual property, digital business, and food science, helping students develop professional skills, innovative thinking, and informed decision-making.

1. From Idea to Income: Financial Literacy for Young Entrepreneurs

A one-day seminar focused on developing financial literacy among young entrepreneurs. The programme covered money management, budgeting, saving and investment, business loans and funding options, cash-flow management, financial risks, and building sustainable business models. The session aimed to help students make informed financial decisions and transform innovative ideas into viable and sustainable ventures. 40 students participated in the programme.

2. Understanding Intellectual Property Rights: Protecting Ideas, Powering Innovation

The workshop introduced students to the importance of Intellectual Property Rights and their role in protecting creativity and innovation. Topics included patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial designs, trade secrets, IPR and innovation, legal frameworks, practical case studies, and ethical challenges related to infringement. The programme encouraged students to understand how intellectual assets can be protected and responsibly utilized. 48 students participated.

3. Entrepreneurship in the Digital Age: Trends and Insights

This seminar explored the changing landscape of entrepreneurship in the digital era. Students gained insights into digital startups, emerging business models such as e-commerce and SaaS, the role of AI, cloud computing and automation, social media and digital marketing, online marketplaces, digital payments, and design thinking. The programme helped participants understand emerging digital business opportunities and the challenges associated with digital entrepreneurship. 61 students participated.

The session enhanced students' awareness of protecting and managing intellectual assets in modern times. 60 students participated.

5. Research on Food Processing Techniques on Nutrient Retention and Bioavailability

The seminar examined how different food-processing techniques influence nutrient retention and bioavailability. Students explored traditional and modern processing methods, the effects of heat, moisture and mechanical treatments on nutrients, comparative processing techniques such as cooking, freezing and drying, and strategies for improving nutritional quality. The programme provided practical insights into minimizing nutrient loss and optimizing food-processing methods. 69 students participated.

6. Entrepreneurship Development and Employment Creation

The workshop encouraged students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and explore self-employment and employment-generation opportunities. Key areas included entrepreneurship fundamentals, business idea generation, opportunity identification, government startup-support schemes, business planning, funding sources, and challenges faced by entrepreneurs. The programme strengthened participants' problem-solving, decision-making, and entrepreneurial skills while highlighting the role of entrepreneurship in economic and social development. 50 MBA students participated.
